Soda Ash is the common name for Sodium Carbonate Na2(CO3). Sodium carbonate is used to scour cloth, as an alkali, and as part of the mordant process for cellulose fibres. We sellĀ anhydrousĀ sodium carbonate (soda ash), which is twice the strength by weigh ofĀ hydratedĀ sodium carbonate (washing soda). Most dye recipes are formulated for soda ash not washing soda.
